Love Tokens 2017

Thank you for visiting and viewing my Love Token 2017 Collection! Although I had planned to offer Cobweb Valentines and Puzzle Purse Valentines, they will not make it in time for Valentine's Day this year. Perhaps when I get them finished, you may want one for the love of your life, a dear friend, an anniversary, or some other very special occasion.

For now, I'd like to share with you my 2017 valentine collection:

These one-of-a-kind pieces are inspired by valentines of the 18th and 19th centuries. All have been made from parchment papers that I have stained, aged, painted with watercolors, and/or printed with copies of 18th century indentured servant letters. The embossed, foil papers are from my vintage & antique card and envelope collection. A few pieces incorporate snippets of old letters or envelopes. I have hand-cut each piece so no two are alike.
Each token of love is displayed in
antique velvet frames...
or antique, embossed photo mats...
or on vintage stamped postcards.

Order information:
Please email me with any questions or with your order list.
I will answer questions as soon as possible.

Antique / Vintage Sale, Part 1

1. 1930s Vintage Star Pincushion
Often called Amish Star Pincushions, but were more often ornamental according to some reference books. Sweet cotton prints (maybe feedsack?), stuffed with cotton, I think. Tiny holes in fabric from pins. Slightly brighter colors on bottom. About 7" across x 4" tall. I can easily see this in a cottage / prairie / farmhouse decor!

$50

2. Vintage Velvet Puzzle Ball Pincushion Whimsy Ball
Hand-stitched, pearl beads at intersections, some pink sections are slightly faded, about 6" across.

 $40

3. Victorian Beaded Velvet Puzzle Ball Pincushion - SOLD thank you!
Very tightly stuffed (probably with cotton), maroon and teal blue velvet, glass beads, green rosettes at each intersection except for the bottom which has a tiny circle of beads; so adorable at 3" across!

$85

4. Vintage Petit Point Mesh Compact
Muted colors that look like pink, lavender, green and brown, has mirror, rouge & rouge cloth, and powder puff for face powder, about 3" across. This was one of my World's Longest Yard Sale (127 Sale) finds back in August --- found in the county where the 127 Sale originated. I think it's 1930s - 1940s, no later.

$25

Antique French Textiles Puzzle Ball Pincushion

Antique French Textiles Puzzle Ball Pincushion

This pincushion is made from beautiful antique fabrics I purchased directly from a dealer in France several years ago. When I received them in the mail, I couldn't bring myself to cut into them... just as before with the antique silk and linen... and so they sat in a box. And I forgot about them.

Recently when I found the linen and silk fabrics, I also found these and knew I would use them to make a puzzle ball pincushion. The antique French textiles (the outer sections) are a red, ivory, and tan striped ticking, a red damask, and a red, burgundy, and tan floral cotton print. The inner sections are made from a vintage damask tablecloth that I had previously hand-dyed / aged.

This is completely hand-cut and hand-stitched by me. It was a dream to sew and I savored each and every little stitch taken with needle and thread. How I love hand-work!

It measures about 5" across.

If you'd like to add this to your collection or start a new collection, the cost is

$95 (plus shipping)

SOLD ~ thank you!

Silk & Linen Puzzle Ball Pincushion

Silk & Linen Puzzle Ball Pincushion

This pin cushion is completely hand-stitched by me. The fabrics used are antique textiles: a wonderful floral linen and a gorgeous ombre stripe silk. I purchased these from an antiques dealer years ago and have been saving them for the perfect project and this is one of them!

I have sewn a vintage green glass bead at each intersection. These were taken from an old necklace I took apart to re-purpose the glass beads and the filigree fastener.

This puzzle ball pin cushion is about 4" across.

$75 (plus shipping)

SOLD - thank you!
